COVID-19
At FirstService, safeguarding the health and safety of our employees and customers is our highest priority. Since the start of the pandemic, we have been closely monitoring COVID-19 updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Canadian Public Health Association and the World Health Organization to ensure we are adhering to the latest guidelines on health and safety.
Our companies are providing essential services throughout this crisis, and these services are making a difference in the lives of many. Our janitorial and restoration businesses are deploying highly trained team members to the front lines, helping mitigate the spread of the virus and providing proactive and reactive decontamination measures. As part of our Social Purpose commitment, our teams are supporting first responders by providing complimentary cleaning and decontamination services to fire and police stations, emergency and personnel vehicles.
Through all of our platforms, we are demonstrating our commitment to delivering excellent service to our customers and communities by following stringent protocols to ensure we are practicing proper hygiene, keeping our customers safe and being respectful of social distancing preferences and requirements. Employees in non-essential roles who have been directed to work from home, have been supported with tools and resources to enable them to continue to perform to the best of their ability. We continue to leverage technology to keep our on site and offsite teams connected to each other and to current and future customers.
As we look to what's next, we are developing re-opening procedures for our offices. This includes making necessary accommodations for our team members and within our physical workspaces to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Safety is, and will always, be our greatest consideration.
I continue to be impressed by the leadership I'm seeing throughout our organization. Our leadership teams are adapting swiftly to this evolving crisis and continue to be guided by our values and service standards. They are working across companies to support each other with information, best practices and other resources to ensure business continuity during these uncertain times.
We are committed to maintaining transparent communication with our teams, and we understand many have or will be impacted by this unprecedented event. Our FirstService Relief Fund is available to those who have experienced financial hardship as the result of COVID 19, and they are able to apply for grants to help them during this difficult time.
We are all in this together. And we will get through this together.
